Life is What You make it Self Portrait - abstract background of life's simple pleasures nature By Artist Chris Shopland 40.3 x 50.5 cm approx Acrylic and spray paint on cradled wood panel

I very nearly painted over this self portrait. This is one of those paintings that has no meaning, it was just an enjoyment of layers, the neon pink a device to bring your eye round, the background has elements from areas I value in life, nature, thought, art, city life, vs countryside life, our inner worlds of words and image, playing with texture. Self portraits are always strange but then I paint those who no one knows and most of you art too familiar with my face and so I am always available to model for met art, so why not.

close to 16 × 20 inch, more 40.3 × 50.5 ish (don’t ya hate when it doesnt quite measure up to a whole number!!!
