Music has a way of transporting us—it creates an emotional connection and carries us to another world. That’s why my Big Headphone series is rooted in this idea, with titles reflecting this notion. I find that I create more fluidly when the right tempo of music is playing. In fact, I’d go so far as to say I can’t do much of anything without music.
Those who play music give more than they know—it’s a gift. I imagine it's the same with visual art too. But music has the unique ability to reach many people at once, which is why I love integrating art into performance and sharing it with a live audience. Still, creating is often a quiet and solitary process—something deeply personal before it ever becomes public.
